Frequently Asked Questions
What is Doctors in Network (DIN)?
Doctors in Network (DIN) is a tech-enabled logistics and scheduling platform that connects rural hospitals with rotating surgeons for cataract and other specialty procedures. We make it easier for hospitals to expand surgical access without hiring full-time staff—by handling scheduling, contracts, and operations support.
How does DIN work?
Whether you’re a hospital, clinic, or surgeon, DIN starts with a secure portal. Each user logs in to be matched based on operating room availability, surgical needs, and geographic proximity. DIN manages the backend operations to ensure a seamless experience for all parties, while providers maintain patient ownership and clinical oversight.
What types of surgeries does DIN currently support?
DIN currently focuses on cataract surgery and plans to expand into other microsurgical procedures in the future. We work closely with hospitals to determine which procedures are most needed in each region.
Where is DIN currently operating?
DIN is active in select rural regions across the U.S. We’re expanding on a strategic basis and welcome conversations with hospitals, clinics, or state leaders interested in bringing DIN to new areas.

Who is on the DIN team?
DIN was founded by a team of doctors, technologists, and operators committed to redesigning how specialty care is delivered in underserved areas. We bring together frontline clinical experience, digital health innovation, and operational expertise to build a more connected, responsive care model.
What makes DIN different from a locums or staffing agency?
DIN isn’t a staffing agency—we’re a purpose-built regional care network designed for continuity and scale. Our model is rooted in long-term collaboration, not just shift coverage. By combining technology with thoughtful coordination, we help hospitals and surgeons build sustainable partnerships that improve rural access to care.
